About Wilderness Gate

Wilderness Gate, a registered NGO in Zambia, focuses on Christian missionary work primarily within Zambia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Collaborating with local medical ministries like Ebenezer Medical Mission and other Christian bodies, it conducts successful medical missions. Additionally, Wilderness Gate partners with international Christian humanitarian organisation FARM STEW to implement lifestyle changes in rural and urban communities, effectively combating hunger, disease, and poverty, particularly in Zambia.

Position Overview:

Wilderness Gate is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Administration and Finance Coordinator. This position will primarily support our mission work, which includes partnerships with local medical ministries and international Christian humanitarian organisations. The successful candidate will be based in Lusaka and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our administrative and financial functions. Travel will be required to all mission locations from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administration:

  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including but not limited to office organisation, scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for mission activities, such as travel arrangements and accommodation.
  • Act as a liaison between Wilderness Gate, partner organisations, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

2. Finance:

  • Oversee financial management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure tracking.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process payments, invoices, and reimbursements in a timely manner.
  • Assist in grant management and reporting, including preparing financial reports for donors and stakeholders.

3. Mission Support:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for mission trips and outreach programs, both locally and internationally.
  • Assist in the coordination of medical missions and community development initiatives, working closely with partner organisations and volunteers.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of projects aimed at addressing hunger, disease, and poverty in rural and urban communities.


  • Previous experience in administration, finance, or project coordination, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Wilderness Gate and its partners.

This is a full-time position based in Lusaka, Zambia, with regular travel required to various locations across the country.
